Simply Seasoned Pork with Rice


Here is a simple but flavorful recipe for those who do not have a lot of spices available or are really short on time. Seasoning packets are a great way to add flavor to your meal and can also be less costly and space saving, too. From hot and spicy, sweet and sour, honey teriyaki or Korean BBQ – choose your favorite; add rice and a vegetable and the Aroma Turbo Rice Pressure Cooker will have your dinner ready in minutes !

1 Asian flavored seasoning packet
1 lb pork, cubed
2 cups chicken broth
1 ½ cups Mahatma ® or Carolina ® white rice, rinsed until water runs clear
1 medium bell pepper, chopped

Use the seasoning packet as a dry rub and massage into the meat. You may want to use all or part of the seasoning packet, depending on your personal taste. Mix together the rice, bell pepper, meat and broth in the inner pot of the Aroma Turbo Rice Pressure Cooker. Close the lid securely and set the steam vent to “Airtight”. Press the Power/Keep warm button and then cook using the White Rice Function. When cooking is complete, carefully turn the steam vent to the “exhaust” position to release the pressure. Check for doneness.

If time allows, consider mixing the meat with the seasoning packet and ¼ c broth in a re-sealable plastic bag and marinate for an hour in the refrigerator. Add the remaining 1¾ c broth when ready to cook, using same cooking instructions as above.
