Hot & Sour Tofu (Vegan and Gluten Free)

Here is a fast and tasty recipe for those who enjoy the taste of hot and sour, but can’t use the prepared varieties as they contain gluten. This savory marinade is gluten free and is delicious with tofu. Even the meat eaters will love it!

Ingredients
14 oz extra firm tofu, drained and cubed
2 tbsp brown sugar dissolved in 1/3 c hot water
1/3 cup gluten free soy sauce
3 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp fresh minced ginger
½ tsp red pepper flakes
2 tsp sesame oil

Directions
Drain the tofu on several layers of paper towels. Meanwhile, in the inner pot of the MiAroma, dissolve the brown sugar in the hot water. Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced ginger, red pepper flakes and sesame oil. Cut the drained tofu into ½ “cubes and add them to the marinade, gently turning each piece so it is evenly coated. Soak the tofu for at least twenty minutes. The longer it marinates, the more flavorful it will be. When ready to cook, lock the lid and cook for 6-7 minutes. Serve over rice, in a noodle bowl or as a sandwich filling.
