Fruit & Ricotta Dessert Wontons

Beautiful, tasty and easy to prepare, you could make these up and serve for dessert tonight using your Aroma Wok. Consider different fillings of your choice, then garnish as you please with fresh fruit, powdered sugar, whipped cream or cinnamon sugar. Yum!

12 wonton wrappers
8 oz ricotta cheese
2- 3 tbsp sugar
8 oz prepared fruit pie filling
1 egg, beaten well
2 cups oil for frying

Aroma 7 Qt. Electric Wok

In a small bowl combine the sugar with the ricotta cheese. Add more sugar if you prefer a sweeter filling. Place 1 tsp of the cheese mixture on the center of a wonton wrapper followed by the same amount of the pie filling. Brush the egg wash mixture around the edges of the wrapper and then fold over the filling to create a triangular shape. Gently press the edges to form a seal. Set aside and cover with a towel while forming the remaining wontons. (You may want to test cook a wonton to see if more or less filling is needed. You want a nice amount but not too much that the filling will burst out.)

Place the oil in the Aroma Wok and heat to 375° F. Once the temperature has been reached, gently add two to three wontons at a time and fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain and cool on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar or sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and top with whipped cream.
