Peanut Butter Bars

Peanut butter–creamy, salty, delicious–makes a great base for these dessert bars. This mixture also has oats and chocolate for a thick and sweet taste. Drizzle with peanut butter frosting and serve. You won’t be able to get enough of these!

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1 cup oats
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips
2 tbsp peanut butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk

Servings: 18
Cooking time: 25 minutes

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Add 1/2 cup peanut butter, egg, vanilla extract and mix. In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry mixture to wet mixture, then stir in chocolate chips. Spread in your Doveware casserole dish and bake for 25 minutes. When done baking, allow to cool. In a bowl, mix together 2 tbsp peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk. Pour over bars and serve.
