Grilled Banana Boats

This is a fast and easy recipe for when  you are craving something sweet without all of the guilt. Similar taste to campfire s’mores, but without the graham crackers or messy fire pit. Try these grilled bananas any time of year!

6 large ripe bananas
6 tbsp dark chocolate chips
6 tbsp marshmallows
2 tbsp chopped walnuts

6 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes

Preheat your Grillet to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
With a sharp knife, make a deep cut lengthwise along the inside curve of each banana. Be careful not to cut all the way through. Push out the sides from the slice you’ve just cut to create a little pocket. Crimp and shape a sheet of aluminum foil around each banana, forming a boat!
Fill each pocket with 1 tbsp chocolate chips, 1 tbsp marshmallows, and a sprinkling of chopped walnuts. Crimp up the edges of each foil boat so it is almost completely covering the banana, but has a slit for steam to escape at the top.
Put banana boats, 3 at a time, into the Grillet and cover. Cook for about 8 minutes until the chocolate melts and the marshmallows are puffy. Carefully remove with tongs. Repeat with remaining 3 bananas.
Remove from the foil boats and either serve directly from the peel, or remove the peel and serve in a bowl or on a plate. Top with ice cream and enjoy!
