Fondue Two Ways!

Need something to bring to your next potluck? Fondues are a quick and easy side dish to prep and not to mention a lot of fun to eat! We’ve made two different fondues, one on the sweet side and one on the savory. You can prepare both to give your party guests some choice or just make one, but either way they can be made and kept warm right in your rice cooker!

3 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 cup grated Swiss cheese
5 tsp cornstarch
1/2 cup cooked bacon (about 8 slices)
3/4 cup dry white wine
freshly ground black pepper
Bite-size pieces of bread, steamed broccoli florets and/or asparagus spears for dipping

Toss together the cheddar, Swiss cheese with the cornstarch in the inner pot of your Aroma rice cooker. Pour the wine into your inner pot and turn on your rice cooker to the “Steam” function. Stir until the cheese is almost melted and the fondue bubbling. Crumble up the cooked bacon into small pieces and stir it into the cheese. Season with pepper, to taste. Serve with bread and vegetables of your choice and keep your rice cooker is in “Keep Warm” mode.

2 cups heavy cream
3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
Strawberries, bananas, pineapple, brownies, marshmallows, and/or cookies for dipping

Pour in the heavy cream and turn on your Aroma rice cooker to the “Steam” function. Let the heavy cream cook and thicken for about 8 minutes. When the cream is hot, add chocolate chips and mix together until smooth and melted. Whisk in vanilla, mixing constantly. Serve with fruit, brownies, marshmallows, and/or cookies of your choice and keep your rice cooker is in “Keep Warm” mode.
