Coffee Brownies

Brownies are great, coffee is great…so of course you should combine the two for a delicious dessert! This recipe is for brownies from scratch, with a little added flavor from liquid or powder espresso and a little crunch from some nuts. Enjoy!

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup espresso or 1 tbsp espresso powder
1/2 cup melted chocolate
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)

Servings: 10
Cooking time: 30 minutes

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together with an electric mixer. Add eggs and vanilla. Then add espresso and chocolate. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to wet mixture and mix well. Stir in nuts. Pour into your Doveware Casserole Dish and bake for 30 minutes.

  1. I like 5he recipe for One Bowl Brownies from the wrapper of baking chocolate, but I make them special when I add chopped macadamia nuts and dried cherries, about a half cup of each. Yum!
